Overgrown kale still produces well

It's hard to cut down the kale as it keeps producing even when it appears it's past it's prime. The six foot tall plant on the left has fully flowered which usually means it's done, but as you can see there are still lots of good leaves on the plant.

On the right is a five foot plant. We simply can't eat it all so it goes bad on the bottom and eventually falls off. However, there's still tons of good kale on the top so this plant will stick around for a while.
